James Frederic Hughes was an American salesman and Democratic Party politician from De Pere, Wisconsin. Born in 1883, he worked as a salesman before entering public service, eventually embarking on a career in electoral politics.\n\nHughes served one term in the United States House of Representatives, representing Wisconsin's 8th congressional district during the 73rd Congress from 1933 to 1935. Due to a chronic illness, he retired from office after his single term. He passed away in 1940.
