John A. Hutchison is an American lawyer and jurist who served on the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. Born in 1950, Hutchison dedicated his career to the legal profession, eventually ascending to the state's highest court where he served as an associate justice from 2018 to 2024.
During his tenure on the bench, Hutchison was elevated to the position of chief justice, serving in this leading capacity for the year 2022. Following his active term, he returned to the court in 2025 to temporarily serve as a Senior Status justice.
