Edward Ingle (1861–1924) was an American journalist, editor, and historical writer whose work focused primarily on the regional history, social dynamics, and public institutions of the American South. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ingle pursued his higher education at Johns Hopkins University during its foundational years. His connection to the institution remained strong throughout his life, leading him to document the university's early history and publish several of his writings through its press.
Over the course of his career, Ingle established himself as a prominent editorial voice in the region, editing major publications such as the Richmond Times and the Manufacturers Record.
