Theodora R. Jenness (1847–1935), born Theodora Robinson, was an American children's author, editor, and clubwoman whose active writing career spanned the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is remembered for her contributions to juvenile literature, publishing a variety of books between 1879 and 1917 that entertained and instructed young readers of the era.
In addition to her published volumes, Jenness was a prolific contributor to popular periodicals. She frequently wrote short stories and serialized fiction for magazines, which allowed her to maintain a consistent presence in the literary market. Her work as an editor also complemented her creative output, giving her a broader influence over the children's literature of her time.
Outside of her literary pursuits, Jenness was dedicated to community and religious service. She spent many years conducting missionary work in South Dakota, a role that aligned with her active involvement as a clubwoman. Through both her social advocacy and her published writings, Jenness sought to make a meaningful impact on her contemporary society. She passed away on March 30, 1935.
