Bascom Joseph Rowlett (1886–1947) was an American architect active in Richmond, Virginia, during the early twentieth century. Born into modest circumstances, Rowlett was raised by guardians following the death of his father, James Bascom Rowlett, who had been employed at the local Tredegar Ironworks.\n\nDespite these early hardships, Rowlett successfully pursued an education in his home state. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1906 and subsequently attended the Virginia Mechanics Institute, where he acquired the technical training that would support his professional career in architectural design.
