Ivar Jørgensen (1877–1956) was a Norwegian politician and civil servant who dedicated much of his life to public service and local administration in Oslo. Born in Langstrand, Sørøysund, Jørgensen began working at sea at the age of fifteen before pursuing lower education in Kristiania (now Oslo). In his early career, he worked as a construction and factory laborer, later transitioning to the dairy industry where he eventually became a co-owner of the Fortuna Meieri dairy in 1909.

Jørgensen's political career was closely tied to the Norwegian Labour Party. He served as a board member of the Kristiania Labour Party from 1906 to 1921 and was a member of the national party's supervisory council during the same period. His electoral roles included serving on the Kristiania city council from 1907 to 1922, as well as acting as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway for three consecutive terms between 1913 and 1921. He was also an active participant in the temperance movement.

In addition to his political engagements, Jørgensen held significant administrative positions within the municipality. From 1916 to 1935, he worked as an inspector and office manager for Oslo's housing rental division. He later transitioned to healthcare administration, serving as the manager of the Krohgstøttens Sykehus hospital starting in 1935. Jørgensen passed away in February 1956 and was buried at Nordre gravlund.
