Helen Haiman Joseph (1888–1978) was an American author and puppeteer who made significant contributions to the performing arts in the United States. Widely recognized as the "grandmother of American puppetry," she helped popularize the medium through her extensive national puppeteering tours and creative theatrical endeavors.
Throughout her career, Joseph published a variety of books and plays dedicated to the craft of puppetry. Her work as both a writer and a performer helped establish puppetry as a recognized artistic and literary form in America during the twentieth century.
