Elijah Kellogg Jr. was an American author, lecturer, and Congregationalist minister who lived during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born on May 20, 1813, Kellogg dedicated his career to both spiritual leadership and the creation of engaging literature for young audiences.

Throughout his life, Kellogg was particularly recognized for his popular adventure books written specifically for boys. In addition to his literary endeavors, he actively served as a minister within the Congregationalist church and frequently spoke as a lecturer. His diverse career allowed him to influence young minds through both his spoken sermons and his written narratives. Kellogg passed away on March 17, 1901.
