Walter Philip Kellenberg was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who dedicated his career to ecclesiastical service in New York State. Born in 1901, Kellenberg served in several key leadership positions within the church during the mid-twentieth century.
His episcopal career began in the Archdiocese of New York, where he served as an auxiliary bishop from late 1953 to early 1954. He was subsequently appointed as the bishop of the Diocese of Ogdensburg in Northern New York, serving from 1954 to 1957. Kellenberg is most notably remembered as the first bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Long Island, leading the diocese from its establishment in 1957 until 1976.
