Walter Kubilius (1918–1993) was an American author who specialized in science fiction, particularly short fiction. Active during the mid-20th century, he is remembered for his contributions to the early science fiction community and his associations with key figures of the era's fandom.
Kubilius was a member of the Futurians, an influential science fiction fandom club that played a significant role in shaping the development of the genre. His writing style, however, received mixed reviews from his peers. Fellow Futurian and author James Blish notably described Kubilius's prose as "pedestrian, out-at-the-elbows prose," reflecting the critical discussions that occurred within their literary circle.
