Lamb's personal life was closely intertwined with the prominent figures of her era. In 1812, she embarked on a famous affair with the poet Lord Byron, whom she memorably described as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know." She was married to the Honourable William Lamb, who, following her death in 1828, became the 2nd Viscount Melbourne and served as the British Prime Minister.
