Sarah Eglonton Bowdich Lee (née Wallis) was an English writer, illustrator, traveller, and natural scientist who lived during the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Born in 1791, she developed a diverse range of expertise that spanned both the arts and the sciences, making contributions as an author and researcher before her death in 1856.
As a scientist, Lee focused her efforts on several distinct fields of natural history, working actively as a zoologist, botanist, and pteridologist. Her travel experiences informed her perspective, allowing her to observe and document diverse flora and fauna.
