Leslie George Bull, who went by the nicknames Johnny, Les, and Lester, was a British pilot during the Second World War. He flew Vickers Wellington bombers before being captured by enemy forces and held as a prisoner of war.
During his captivity, Bull participated in the famous "Great Escape" from the Stalag Luft III prisoner-of-war camp in March 1944. Although he successfully broke out of the camp alongside other prisoners, he was subsequently recaptured and executed by the Gestapo on March 29, 1944.
