Joan Lowell, born Helen Wagner on November 23, 1902, was an American actress who worked during the silent film era. While she initially built her career in the early motion picture industry, she later transitioned into the literary world, where she achieved widespread notoriety.
In 1929, Lowell published her sensational autobiography, Cradle of the Deep. Although the book was presented to the public as a factual account of her life, it was subsequently revealed to be fictionalized.
