Vylopally Mama Sudheeran, born on May 26, 1948, is a prominent Indian politician and a key figure in the political landscape of Kerala. Over his extensive career in public service, he has occupied several of the state's most prestigious political and legislative offices. Notably, he has served as the President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), guiding the party's organizational efforts in the region, and has also held the position of Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
In addition to his leadership within the legislature, Sudheeran served the state of Kerala directly as its Health Minister. His legislative career is marked by significant tenure at both the state and national levels. He represented the Manalur constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly for over a decade and a half, serving from 1980 to 1996. On the national stage, he was elected multiple times to the Lok Sabha, representing the Alappuzha constituency during the 6th, 11th, 12th, and 13th sessions of the parliament.
