June Knox-Mawer, born June Ellis in Wrexham, Wales, in 1930, was a versatile British writer and radio broadcaster. Over the course of her career, she successfully navigated multiple creative fields, producing a diverse body of work that included both non-fiction books and romance novels, alongside her active work in radio broadcasting.

Knox-Mawer's literary achievements were highlighted by her success in romantic fiction. Her novel Sandstorm received critical acclaim within the genre, winning the prestigious Romantic Novel of the Year Award from the Romantic Novelists' Association in 1992. She continued her creative endeavors until her death in April 2006.
