W. Maynard Sparks was an American ecclesiastical leader who served as a bishop within the Evangelical United Brethren Church (E.U.B.) and subsequently the United Methodist Church. Born in December 1906, Sparks spent his career within the American Christian ministry, reaching a major milestone with his election to the office of bishop in 1958.
