James V. McConnell was an American biologist and animal psychologist who lived from 1925 to 1990. He is most widely recognized for his scientific research on learning and memory transfer in planarians, which he conducted during the 1950s and 1960s.\n\nIn addition to his scientific career, McConnell also worked as a writer. During the mid-1950s, he published several short science fiction stories.
