Duncan McGregor (1881–1947) was a prominent New Zealand rugby footballer who achieved distinction in both rugby union and rugby league during the early twentieth century. He is best remembered as a member of the historic 1905 "Original All Blacks" rugby union team, which toured the British Isles, France, and North America, cementing New Zealand's reputation as a rugby powerhouse.
Following his success in rugby union, McGregor transitioned to rugby league, joining the pioneering 1907 New Zealand rugby league tour of Britain and Australia. This tour played a foundational role in establishing the league code in the Southern Hemisphere. After the conclusion of the 1907–08 tour, McGregor chose to remain in Britain, where he opened a sports store and continued his playing career with the Welsh club Merthyr Tydfil RLFC.
McGregor returned to New Zealand after five years abroad. Although his playing days eventually came to an end, he remained deeply connected to the sport of rugby league, serving as an administrator and official to help guide and develop the game in his home country.
