John Joseph "Dookie" McKenzie was an Australian rules footballer who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL). During his career in the league, McKenzie played for both the Essendon and Melbourne football clubs.\n\nAs a youth, McKenzie acquired the nickname "Dookie." The moniker was inspired by his favorite player, Alex "Dookie" McKenzie, who played for Carlton and Melbourne during the 1880s and 1890s.
