Hugh Miller (1802–1856) was a Scottish writer, geologist, and folklorist. Born in October 1802, Miller developed a career that combined scientific observation with literary and cultural documentation.
Throughout his life, Miller focused his efforts on the study of geology and the preservation of folklore in Scotland. He passed away in December 1856.
