Francis Davis Millet was an American creative figure who worked as an academic classical painter, sculptor, and writer. Active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, he established a professional portfolio spanning multiple artistic disciplines, including fine art, sculpture, and literature.
Millet's life and career were cut short in the spring of 1912. He is remembered historically for his artistic contributions as well as his tragic death, having perished as a passenger during the sinking of the RMS Titanic.
