Robert A. Millikan (1868-1953) was an American physicist recognized for his monumental contributions to science. Between 1908 and 1921, Millikan resided in Chicago, Illinois, where he conducted his most significant, Nobel Prize-winning research. During this highly productive period, Millikan lived in a three-story brick home built around 1907 in Chicago's Hyde Park community. This residence was later designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976 to honor his scientific legacy.
