Julie Goodyear is an English retired actress who achieved widespread recognition for her portrayal of the character Bet Lynch in the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street. Born in 1942, Goodyear first appeared in the role for a brief nine-episode run in 1966. She later rejoined the cast as a series regular, maintaining a continuous and prominent presence on the show from 1970 until 1995.
Following her departure from the regular cast, Goodyear reprised her famous role for brief stints in the early 2000s. She returned to Coronation Street for eight episodes in 2002, followed by a final appearance of seven episodes in 2003.
