James Napier (1810–1884) was a Scottish industrial chemist and antiquarian. Active during the nineteenth century, Napier successfully engaged in both scientific and historical pursuits, contributing to the industrial developments of his era while also dedicating himself to the study of antiquities.\n\nHis professional and academic contributions earned him significant recognition within the Scottish scientific community, culminating in his election as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Napier passed away on December 1, 1884.
