Edgar Wilson "Bill" Nye was an American humorist active during the late nineteenth century. Born in 1850, Nye made a significant contribution to American journalism and humor. He is best known as the founder and editor of the Laramie Boomerang, a publication that helped establish his reputation. Over his career, Nye became a recognized voice in American comedic writing, continuing his work until his death in 1896.
