Mary Acworth Evershed (1867–1949) was a British astronomer and scholar who made contributions to both the scientific community and literary studies. Born Mary Acworth Orr, she published her literary scholarship under the pen name M.A. Orr, distinguishing her work in the humanities from her scientific endeavors.
Evershed's literary output focused on the works of the medieval Italian poet Dante Alighieri. Through her writings as M.A. Orr, she examined Dante's work from a scholarly perspective, combining her scientific background with literary analysis. Active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, her interdisciplinary approach offered a unique perspective on historical literature.
