Mark Overton, FAcSS, is a British agricultural historian who has dedicated his career to the study of economic and social history. He served as the Professor of Economic and Social History at the University of Exeter, where he engaged in academic research and teaching within his field.

In addition to his academic and research roles, Overton held significant administrative leadership responsibilities at the University of Exeter, serving as the institution's Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 2006 to 2013. He is also recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
