Dorothy Payne Elmhirst (née Whitney, previously Straight) was an American-born social activist, philanthropist, and publisher. Born in 1887, she was a member of the prominent and influential Whitney family.
Throughout her life, Elmhirst engaged in various philanthropic endeavors and social activism. She was also active as a publisher before her death in 1968.
