George Washington Patterson was an American politician who active in the state of New York during the nineteenth century. Born in 1799, Patterson engaged in public service and held significant offices at both the state and federal levels of the United States government.\n\nThroughout his political career, Patterson served as a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York. In addition to his legislative service in Congress, he also served as the Lieutenant Governor of New York, playing a key role in the state's executive administration before his death in 1879.
