Josephine Cecilia Peary (née Diebitsch) was an American author and arctic explorer. She is best known for her association with polar exploration during a historic era of Arctic travel.
Peary was married to Robert Peary, the explorer who claimed to be the first individual to reach the geographic North Pole. Through her own writing and active participation in northern expeditions, she established herself as a pioneering figure in the history of Arctic exploration.
