G. H. Perris

George Herbert Perris (1866–1920) was a publishing pioneer best known as the originator of the Home University Library of Modern Knowledge. Active during the transition into the twentieth century, Perris focused on creating structured, affordable literature designed to make academic subjects accessible to the general public.\n\nThe Home University Library of Modern Knowledge became one of the most successful non-fiction series of the first half of the twentieth century. Under the framework originated by Perris, the series eventually expanded to over 200 volumes, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of popular education and public literacy.
