Marjorie Lowry Christie Pickthall was an English-born Canadian writer and poet. Born in Gunnersbury, London, on September 14, 1883, she relocated to Canada at the age of seven, where she lived and established her writing career. Highly regarded during her lifetime, Pickthall was once thought to be the best Canadian poet of her generation. Her life and career were cut short when she passed away in Vancouver on April 22, 1922.
