Katherine Frances Purdon (1852–1920) was an Irish novelist and playwright active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is best remembered for her contributions to the Irish Literary Revival, a movement that sought to promote and rejuvenate Irish culture, folklore, and identity. In addition to her literary pursuits, Purdon was a member of the United Irishwomen, an organization dedicated to improving the social and economic conditions of women in rural Ireland. Through her creative writing and her involvement in contemporary cultural movements, she played a role in shaping the literary landscape of Ireland during a period of significant national transition.
