George Haven Putnam (1844–1930) was an American publisher, soldier, and writer. Over the course of his career, he achieved academic distinction, holding both A.M. and Litt.D. degrees.

Putnam is best known for his leadership of the publishing house G. P. Putnam's Sons. Beginning in 1872, he served as the company's president for its first fifty-two years, directing its operations and shaping its early history.
