Richard Robert Arnold II is an American educator and NASA astronaut known for his missions to the International Space Station. Born in Cheverly, Maryland, in 1963, Arnold grew up in Bowie, Maryland. He is married to Eloise Miller Arnold, with whom he has two daughters.

Arnold's career in space exploration includes two major flights. He first launched on March 15, 2009, as part of the Space Shuttle mission STS-119, which was responsible for delivering the final set of solar arrays to the International Space Station. He returned to the space station nearly a decade later, launching onboard the Soyuz MS-08 mission in 2018.
