Frances Helen Allison was an American television and radio comedienne, personality, and singer who became a pioneer of early children's television. Born in 1907, Allison built a versatile career in broadcasting, earning widespread recognition for her warm on-screen presence and engaging performances.

She is best known for her starring role on the weekday NBC-TV puppet show Kukla, Fran and Ollie, which originally ran from 1947 to 1957. As the only live-action human performer on the program, Allison interacted seamlessly with the puppet characters created by puppeteer Burr Tillstrom. The show was highly acclaimed and made occasional returns to the airwaves until the mid-1980s.

Beyond this signature series, Allison and her puppet co-stars also hosted The CBS Children's Film Festival from 1967 to 1977, introducing international children's films to American audiences. Allison's contributions to early television left a lasting impact on children's entertainment before her death in 1989.
