Winifred Waddell (1884–1972) was an English-born Australian botanist and conservationist who dedicated her life to the preservation of Australia's unique native flora. Born in Cumberland, England, in 1884, she later established her life and career in Australia, where she became a prominent figure in community-led environmental conservation.\n\nWaddell's most significant contribution was the founding of the Native Plants Preservation Society of Victoria.
