Throughout her writing career, she worked in close collaboration with her husband, Chauncey Corey Brainerd, who assisted her with numerous writing projects. Chauncey brought a background in journalism to their partnership, serving as a Washington, D.C. correspondent for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.\n\nTogether, the couple produced a body of work under the Rath name that found a broad audience. Their storytelling proved well-suited for adaptation, with several of their narrative works being successfully transitioned into theatrical plays and motion pictures.
