George Revelle

George Henry Raveling (1937–2025) was a prominent figure in American collegiate athletics, recognized for his extensive career as both a basketball player and a head coach. He first established his presence on the court as a player for the Villanova Wildcats before transitioning into coaching, where he would spend several decades shaping collegiate basketball programs across the United States.
Over his coaching career, Raveling served as the men's head coach for several major university programs. He led the Washington State Cougars from 1972 to 1983, followed by a tenure with the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1983 to 1986, and concluded his head coaching career with the USC Trojans from 1986 to 1994. In recognition of his significant contributions and legacy in the sport, Raveling was inducted as a member of the prestigious Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
