The company grew to become the largest tobacco manufacturer in the United States, later operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reynolds American and British American Tobacco. \n\nAlthough not a literary figure, Reynolds is historically notable as the founder of the manufacturing enterprise behind major commercial brands such as Camel, Newport, Doral, Eclipse, Kent, Pall Mall, Barclay, Belair, and Real.
