William Richards (1749–1818) was a Welsh Baptist minister and writer who spent a significant portion of his life in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Active during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, Richards balanced his religious duties with historical and linguistic scholarship.\n\nAs an author, Richards is best known for writing a comprehensive history of King's Lynn. His other major publication was a Welsh-English dictionary, which served as an important linguistic resource and reflected his Welsh heritage.
