Robert Barnwell Roosevelt (1829–1906), also known as Robert Barnhill Roosevelt, was an American author, sportsman, and politician active during the nineteenth century. A member of the prominent Roosevelt family, he was the uncle of the future United States President Theodore Roosevelt. Throughout his life, he balanced his literary and sporting interests with a dedicated career in public service.
As a politician, Roosevelt represented the state of New York in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1871 to 1873. His diplomatic career also included a post as the Minister to the Hague, which he held from 1888 to 1889.
