He served as the post-production art director for Walt Disney Pictures' landmark 1982 science fiction film Tron, a project widely recognized for its revolutionary use of computer graphics.\n\nFollowing his work on Tron, Grower continued to shape the evolving landscape of digital effects through leadership roles at several prominent industry firms. He worked as the supervisor of special effects at Robert Abel and Associates, a highly influential production company known for its cutting-edge computer graphics and television commercials. He later transitioned to Wavefront Technologies, where he served as the director of production. Wavefront Technologies would later merge with Alias Research to form Alias, a major developer of 3D graphics software.\n\nIn 1990, Grower established his own independent special effects venture, Santa Barbara Studios. Through this studio, he continued to contribute to the advancement of digital visual effects and computer animation, cementing his legacy as a key figure in the transition of cinematic effects from traditional physical methods to modern digital technology.
