James Witt Sewell

James Witt Sewell (1865–1955) was an American educator and author who dedicated his professional life to the instruction and study of the English language. Active during the late nineteenth and early-to-mid twentieth centuries, Sewell is primarily remembered for his contributions to English education in the state of Tennessee. He served as an English teacher at Hume-Fogg High School, a prominent secondary school located in Nashville, Tennessee.
