Ralph Allan Lee Shortey is a former American politician and businessman who served in the Oklahoma Senate. A member of the Republican Party, Shortey was elected to office in 2010 after defeating several challengers in the primary elections. He was re-elected in 2014 and served until 2017. During his tenure, he established a Republican consulting firm and served as the Oklahoma state campaign chair for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
Shortey resigned from office in March 2017 after being charged with three felonies related to paying a male minor for sex. In September 2017, a federal grand jury in Oklahoma City charged him on four counts. He pleaded guilty to one of these counts in November 2017 under an agreement to drop the remaining charges. Shortey was sentenced in September 2018 to 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.
