John Charles Sillett was an English professional football player and manager who enjoyed a distinguished career on and off the pitch. Born in 1936, Sillett played as a defender for Chelsea, Coventry City, and Plymouth Argyle. A major highlight of his playing career occurred in 1955, when he won the Football League First Division Championship with Chelsea, sharing the achievement on the field alongside his brother, Peter Sillett.

After retiring as a player, Sillett transitioned into management, where he earned further acclaim. He served as the manager of Coventry City from 1986 until 1990, famously guiding the team to an FA Cup victory in 1987. Over the course of his managerial career, he also completed two distinct spells leading Hereford United. Sillett passed away in November 2021, leaving behind a respected legacy in English football.
