Elsie Singmaster Lewars (1879–1958) was an American author from Macungie, Pennsylvania. Recognized as one of her hometown's most famous citizens, she made significant contributions to American literature during the early to mid-twentieth century.
Her literary achievements were highlighted in 1934 when she was named a Newbery Honor recipient. Throughout her career, she remained closely tied to her Pennsylvania roots, which heavily influenced her identity as a writer.
