Jeanie Oliver Davidson Smith, widely known by her pen name Temple Oliver, was an American poet and romancist whose career flourished during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born Jeanie Oliver Davidson in 1836, she established herself as a versatile writer of both verse and romantic prose. Throughout her active years, she successfully engaged with a broad reading public by contributing to some of the most prominent and leading magazines in both the United States and Great Britain, securing a transatlantic presence for her work.
