Theodore Seixas Solomons (1870–1947) was an American explorer and early member of the Sierra Club who played a foundational role in mapping the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Active during the late nineteenth century, Solomons dedicated several years to exploring the wilderness of eastern California, contributing significantly to the geographical documentation of the region.\n\nBetween 1892 and 1897, Solomons focused his efforts on the area that now constitutes northern Kings Canyon National Park. During these expeditions, he explored and named several prominent natural features, including Mount Goddard, Evolution Valley, and the Evolution Basin. His work was instrumental in envisioning, exploring, and establishing the route of what became the John Muir Trail, which runs from Yosemite Valley along the crest of the Sierra Nevada to Mount Whitney.
